Thanks for the quick response madbiologist, I think this is more of a paper cut than a serious bug but as I use pdf a lot I tend to see it alot. One thing I noticed is that the pdf I sent has an open office generated gradient in other pdf's I have which contain png images with gradients you get a perfect output. Don't know if that helps but just thought I would mention it.
