Texmakerx is a buggy (just take a look at the bug tracker) and unstable fork of the original Texmaker LaTeX editor. This fork is based on a buggy and unmaintained library (QCodeEdit). This fork uses intentionally almost the same name, the same logo and even the same version number to make confusion with the original program (which also provides interactive spell checking!!). Of course, forking is a right and can be a good thing, but using intentionally the same name and the same logo is not very compliant with the open sources rules.
