I have a similar problem having upgraded to Ubuntu 10.4 from a previously cd installed 9.4. It also affects shut down for me, that is to say the computer power remains on and does not automatically switch off until manually turned off. I have Linux : 2.6.32-25-generic #45-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 19:48:22 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux. I attach the relevant lspci -vvnn and part of the dmesg, which includes 'drm:drm_reclaim_locked_buffers] *ERROR* reclaim_buffers_locked() deadlock.' at the end which, oddly enough, seems to have been listed as a problem associated with Lucid - for start up ( see Bug #342122, report, #9 and #10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/557894 ). dmidecode # dmidecode 2.9 /dev/mem: Permission denied.
I am new to Ubuntu and Linux and would greatly appreciate any help with this. ** Attachment added: "lspci -vvnn; dmesg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/557894/+attachment/1719582/+files/dmesg ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => New -- hibernate does not shut off computer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/557894 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
