I'm using a Maverick x64 LiveCD trying to change some partitions on a failed Clonezilla restore of a disk with Windows Vista on the primary partition and three partitions on an extended partition. Don't know if this is the same bug or not but when I try to delete the swap partition in the extended partition I get the following error (googled for MSDOS_MAGIC and found this bug). I was able to delete the ext4 partition sda7 just before it without a problem and the ntfs partition following it also (all three in the extended partition).
I need to get my system built back up soon and will likely start from scratch again with a Windows then Ubuntu install to get dual boot. And since I don't seem to be able to restore this configuration doubt that I will be able to help with a further repro.
