I run Ubuntu 10.04 and I have a Wacom Volito2 I also have the connects/disconnect issue with it since a couple of weeks. The Volito has a little LED on the front which is on when a USB connection is established. Now it just flickers. I don't have any crashes but since I want to use it exclusively I just disconnect it and reconnect a mouse currently.
