Today I upgraded Firefox to 3.6.12 and the kernel to 2.6.35-23.36. The problem persists. The system simply won't run on this kernel. I have to boot the old 2.6.32.25 to be able to even get this message to you.
As before, the system hangs -- no keyboard, no mouse, no interactivity in any way. CPU seems to go full tilt based on sound of the fans. The system will run for a few seconds to at most two minutes after boot, then hangs.
