I have this problem also, on 10.10/Maverick amd64 and the free Ubuntu One subscription. Evolution: 2.30.3-1ubuntu6, Evolution-couchdb: 0.5.0-0ubuntu1, Ubuntuone-client: 1.4.4.1-0ubuntu1.
I can add contacts from Evolution and they synchronise to the server, but I cannot delete or edit contacts from Evolution. However, I can edit and delete them through the web interface. (Also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-couchdb/+bug/666404 for the not being able to delete part.
