Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bzr

I am using Ubuntu 10.10. When I try to open the bzr preferences window
from "System->Preferences", nothing happens. Accessing it from the
command line ("bzr gpreferences") gives the following output.

bzr: ERROR: Unable to determine your name.
Please, set your name with the 'whoami' command.
E.g. bzr whoami "Your Name <n...@example.com>"

Perhaps a notification should be displayed saying that the name is not
set. Or perhaps a pop-up window could ask for the name and email, set
the details by executing the command and then show the preferences
window. Some form of feedback has to be given else nobody will ever
understand what is going on-it took me some time to realize that the
application is perhaps crashing.
