Hmm, a difference between the workaround and module-udev-detect is actually the 
connect string.
Assume that you have this workaround and it's working successfully:

load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0

Now try changing the line to:

load-module module-alsa-source device=front:0

Reboot. Does the workaround still work or does changing "hw:0" to
"front:0" make the workaround stop working?
