This happens with Windows as well. Why write a new driver just because the new version of Windows doesn't work with it? With bad drivers, you will get bit, whatever OS you run. I have a lovely PaperPort scanner that I keep around as just such an object lesson. It only has Windows 95 drivers unless you BUY a new one for more than the cost of a scanner.
