im running 2.6.20-13 and dma and 32bit IO cannot be enabled on my SATA
drives (HDD and DVD). hdparm fails with:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo hdparm -c1 -d1 /dev/scd0

/dev/scd0:
 setting 32-bit IO_support flag to 1
 HDIO_SET_32BIT failed: Invalid argument
 setting using_dma to 1 (on)
 HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
 IO_support   =  0 (default 16-bit)

Can hdparm really be used for SATA drives?? I installed sdparm and it looks
like this utility is more suited to SATA, but I cannot find out how to enable
32bit IO, and it looks like DMA is already enabled anyway on SATA drives.

Anyway, I get:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo hdparm -t /dev/sdb

/dev/sdb:
 Timing buffered disk reads:  126 MB in  3.02 seconds =  41.66 MB/sec
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$
