Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ssvnc
Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 After opening a VNC session, FullScreen status can be toggled either via the F8 popup menu, or through a dedicated F9 key binding. Using the F8 popup menu seems to work fine. Using F9 repeatedly tends to hang the X server after a few on/off toggles. In Lucid I could toggle a couple dozen times in quick succession without issues. In order to reproduce the hang it seems to be necessary for the VNC session in question to be larger than the current display. For example I am running on a 1600x900 monitor and connecting to a 1600x1200 VNC session (started with "vnc4server -geometry 1600x1200"). I'm filing this initially against ssvnc because that is the only pre- built application against which I can reproduce it. However I suspect the actual problem might be closer to the X server code. The hang does not seem to be reproducible when visual effects are turned on. Also I have a hacked copy of "vnc4viewer" in which the FullScreen toggle is bound to F12, and a similar hang seems to be reproducible with that viewer. Reproduced on a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop with Intel 4500MHD graphics. ssvnc: Installed: 1.0.27-1 xserver-xorg-video-intel: Installed: 2:2.12.0-1ubuntu5 ** Affects: ssvnc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ssvnc hangs X server while toggling FullScreen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
