Benjamin, I don't quite understand your question but I will try to answer the best my technical knowledge allows.
Here is some additional information which may be of help: The system in question is Lubuntu Mavrick: 1) All instances of Audacious 2.40 were removed and I maually installed the following packages and dependencies from the Lenny repo (in hindsight, I should have enabled the Lucid Lynx or Lenny repo to accomplish this task): audacious_2.3-2_i386.deb audacious-dev_2.3-2_i386.deb audacious-plugins_2.3-2+b1_i386.deb audacious-plugins-extra_1.5.1-2_i386.deb libartsc0_1.5.9-3+b2_i386.deb libaudclient2_2.3-2_i386.deb libaudcore1_2.3-2_i386.deb libaudid3tag1_1.5.1-4_i386.deb libaudid3tag2_2.3-2_i386.deb libmodplug0c2_0.8.4-1+lenny1_i386.deb libmowgli1_0.6.1-1_i386.deb libmowgli1_0.6.1-1_i386.deb libmpcdec3_1.2.2-1_i386.deb Audacious 2.40 has not made it into Debian Squeeze yet (as I'm sure your are aware) but in my Debian Sqeeze system (where version 2.3 is the most current), the package "ffmpeg" is not installed nor was it installed on my Lubuntu Maverick system. Question: If I reinstall 2.4 in Maverick and install the ffmpeg package will .shn files then be able to play in Audacious?
