I have a different issue, but related to this driver:

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my Medion Akoya E1210 which has a Ralink 2860.
I have an Apple Airport Extreme and a Time Capsule who together create a single
wireless network. The Airport is connected to the internet and also runs as a
DHCP server, the Time Capsule only extends the range of the network.

After a fresh boot wireless always connects to my network. After a
resume from suspend however, it connects only to the wireless network if
I am close to the Timecapsule. If I am close to the Airport it will not
connect.

I tried the Proprietary driver from Ralink and that seems to connect
under all circumstances, unfortunately it crashes the kernel after a few
minutes, so that makes this pretty useless.

Ubuntu 10.04 worked fine with the older (january 2010) Ralink
proprietary driver installed.
