Experienced this error in the release version of Kubuntu Maverick on a netbook. This was an in-place upgrade of Lucid and the message appeared after login once the post-upgrade reboot had completed. I hit Cancel to get rid of the message.
Later, I suspended and resumed the netbook, and the message re-appeared. I hit Cancel again and rebooted. The message didn't appear this time.
