The answer to Question #128732 led me to try adding a line to the conf file as follows. "... gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
In gedit, scroll down and ADD the following line in the /etc/modprobe.d /alsa-base.conf file: options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-dig ..." The various options for cards can be found at: http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio- Models.txt After a reboot it now works! YMMV I dont know if this is really a bug, or a configuration update problem during the upgrade process (which I suppose is also a bug!!!) -- [Realtek ALC662 rev1] PA test tone failed (alsa tone succeeded) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/660293 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
