Basically on my iPod Classic, once the song is on the ipod the extension is removed i.e. in the Rhythmbox library, when you look at the file info, the filename is "xxxxx-xxxxxxxx.mp3" but when you look at the file info for the song once its synced to the iPod its just like "xxxxx-xxxxxxx. "
