I've got the same problem with the actual version of the linux kernell: 2.6.25.32 after a fresh update of ubuntu 10.04 to ubuntu10.10. the only way to boot correctly with this kernel is to set up acpi=off in grub config file. Maybe it s a problem with radeon driver or KMS.
