** Description changed:

-
.... Segmentation fault when loading HTTPS pages

  Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox is consistently crashing when the following steps are executed:

  1) open firefox in a terminal:

  firefox

  2) open any http URL that automatically redirects to a https one (I've
  tested with http://launchpad.net/ and http://mail.yahoo.com/).

  3) As soon as the page redirects to the https site (but before page is
  fully loaded), close the window.

  4) Firefox will crash and the following message will appear on console:

  (Gecko:5751): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid uninstantiatable type
  `(null)' in cast to `GtkWidget'

  (Gecko:5751): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid uninstantiatable type
  `(null)' in cast to `GObject'

  (Gecko:5751): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_get_data: assertion
`G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
  Segmentation fault (core dumped)

  Environment:

  - Ubuntu Edgy (latest updates)
  - firefox 1.99+2.0rc3+dfsg-0ubuntu1
