I have a similar problem. When I just try to suspend my MSI megabook S262, it enters suspend and the led flashes. After I press the power button again, the DVD-drive reads a few times and nothing else happens. It is still frozen. No display, no HD activity, no CPU-fan activity...
I tried https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspendHibernateResume and typed (and the other three too): # echo core > /sys/power/pm_test # echo reboot > /sys/power/disk # echo disk > /sys/power/state # dmesg > /tmp/dmesg-core-reboot.txt and everything seems to work, though the computer does not completely enter suspend mode then. The screen goes blank and comes back up again and the HD seems to stop and start again etc. Some time ago I also played around with s2ram and the best I got out of that was a cpu fan that started spinning after suspend. I tried https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend too, but the hash never matched (am I doing anything wrong?) I also ran the test script from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/SuspendResumeTesting and didn't get any further than the person above me here. if there are any other tests that I can run and results I could attach, please tell me. I've gotten quite handy with ubuntu lately. ** Attachment added: "dmesg after debug" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/375155/+attachment/1675488/+files/dmesg.txt -- Suspend & Hibernate don't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375155 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
