Hi,
  Can you try adding the

nomodeset

option to the kernel boot line ?  To do that hit shift to get the grub menu 
right after the bios  and I think it's hit 'e' to edit the entry.
Now go to the kernel line that ends with quiet splash  and edit the line and 
add nomodeset   and then I think it is ctrl-k to boot.
