Hi, I cannot say for now, I don't use Ubuntu myself : the system (which now uses Karmic) is on my wife's laptop and I won't have access to it before a few weeks, so one will have to remind me… I have not heard of any similar issue since Karmic is installed, but I can't say for sure that the input method is configured the very same way.
