tried using the grub options i8042.reset irqpoll i8042.noloop=1 i8042.nomux=1 but none of them worked individually or combined.

So the information as required: 1. Gigabyte Booktop M1305C 2. Synaptics touchpad but not sure what model or anything (synaptics packages are installed correctly) 3.
