I'm afraid your hard disk seems to be having problems. There's lots of this stuff in your /var/log/syslog:
Aug 7 16:56:46 ubuntu kernel: [4294806.991000] hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } Aug 7 16:56:46 ubuntu kernel: [4294806.991000] hda: dma_intr: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError }, LBAsect=61330626, high=3, low=10998978, sector=61330562 Aug 7 16:56:46 ubuntu kernel: [4294806.991000] ide: failed opcode was: unknown Aug 7 16:56:46 ubuntu kernel: [4294806.991000] end_request: I/O error, dev hda, sector 61330562 Aug 7 16:56:46 ubuntu kernel: [4294806.991000] Buffer I/O error on device dm-2, logical block 10211906 I'd make backups and consider replacing the disk. (Of course, it's also possible that it's a kernel bug, for example DMA being turned on when it shouldn't be or vice versa.) ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Rejected -- Installer crashed - RuntimeError: Install failed with exit code 1 https://launchpad.net/bugs/55537 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
