Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I am having troubles getting my external monitor to work with my laptop. In particular I am having problems getting the correct aspect ratio. I have always had problems with this particular monitor, and I have corrected by mucking with the xorg.conf file, however, the xorg.conf file that I have been using for the last couple versions, and with my old laptop is not working with 10.10 and my new laptop. My goal is to have the second monitor setup with 1440x900 ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.12.0-1ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-19.28-generic 2.6.35.3 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-19-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Chipset: arrandale DRM.card0.DisplayPort.1: status: connected enabled: enabled dpms: On modes: 1280x800 1280x800 edid-base64: AP///////wBMo0FUAAAAAAAUAQSVHhN4Cp8GiVpXmCogUFUAAAABAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBoRsArFAgDDAMQDMAL74QAAAabBIArFAgDDAMQDMAL74QAAAaAAAA/gBDUjVNM4AxNDFBVAogAAAAAAAAQQEZAAAAAAkBCiAgAMk= DRM.card0.DisplayPort.2: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.DisplayPort.3: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.HDMI_Type_A.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.HDMI_Type_A.2: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.VGA.1: status: connected enabled: enabled dpms: On modes: 1024x768 800x600 800x600 848x480 640x480 edid-base64: Date: Tue Sep 28 14:21:45 2010 DumpSignature: 488c32be ExecutablePath: /usr/share/apport/apport-gpu-error-intel.py InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Beta i386 (20100901.1) InterpreterPath: /usr/bin/python2.6 MachineType: Dell Inc.
