Using a herd5 iso with a dist-upgrade as of 10 pm tonight, same problem on a Gforce4 mx, used the 'Restricted Drivers Manager' to add the Nvidia drivers and was limited to 800x600 or 640x480 at something less than 24 bit colour after the reboot looking at /var/log/Xorg.0.log I see lots of (II) NVIDIA(0): Not using default mode "1280x1024" (hsync out of range) lines followed by (II) NVIDIA(0): Virtual screen size determined to be 800 x 600 (--) NVIDIA(0): Display dimensions: (360, 270) mm (--) NVIDIA(0): DPI set to (56, 56) hope this helps
