Having used "Startup Disk Creator" with a 10.10BETA release acquired on 9/25/2010 i386 Desktop... I had this problem where the OS didn't recognize the disk that had the LUKS encrypted drive. I had initially installed 9.10 from the Alternate install CD.
Anyway - I'll try installing from the CD instead of a USB Stick.
