Seems to be that my Thinkpad doesn't want to power down when hibernating on Tuesdays, or something. Here's another dmesg, after a reboot. There is some difference in the output (that is, in addition to the keyboard messages in the earlier listing), but I'm not sure if there are any error indicators related to the hibernation.
