well, I am also behind a corp file wall, and I use proxy chains for a lot of command line apps; I used it as well for ubuntu one.
I setup proxychains; edited the /usr/share/dbus/ files for ubuntuone to not longer launch the execs. I then manually launched the login and syncdaemon with proxychains, then I used the preferences gui to connect, and it worked.
