Cory: perhaps it would be worth focusing on the speed at which this fix was applied and a new version deployed after it was brought to people's attention and highlighted as an issue. This is the reason why testing the distribution is important and feeding back /any/ problems (however small) to the bug tracker is important. The more people who test, the quicker issues can be addressed.
