I've tried the daily Ubuntu 10.10 alternate install iso today (20. 09. 2010.). So I downloaded the following iso:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/20100920/maverick-alternate-i386.iso And the installer still don't ask for proxy configuration when I chose the network mirror. The RC release is coming soon. I think this is a serious bug.
