I am not sure if the bug is fixed in 9.10, because I have already installed the latest version 10. 4, the new OS do not have this bug.
You can do this to solve the problem: 1.edit boot configuration sudo gedit /etc/default/grub 2.add the "nomodtest" as a value of GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nomodtest" 3.update GRUB configuration sudo update-grub On 9/10/10, Fabio Marconi <marconifa...@hotmail.it> wrote: > Why you are not sure ? > > -- > Screen brightness auto increases and decreases every second > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466654 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > > Status in Ubuntu: Incomplete > > Bug description: > After pressing key FN+F4(increase brightness) or FN+F5(decrease brightness) > in gui mode, my notebook screen will auto increase and decrease brightness > every second, to avoid this, I have to switch to console screen, and switch > back. > > My notebook is running without battery. > > ProblemType: Bug > Architecture: i386 > Date: Sat Oct 31 21:14:38 2009 > DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 > ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/yelp > InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) > Package: yelp 2.28.0-0ubuntu2 > ProcEnviron: > LANGUAGE=zh_CN.UTF-8 > LANG=zh_CN.UTF-8 > SHELL=/bin/bash > ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic > SourcePackage: yelp > Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 > XsessionErrors: > (gnome-settings-daemon:4835): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_propagate_error: > assertion `src != NULL' failed > (nautilus:4931): Eel-CRITICAL **: eel_preferences_get_boolean: assertion > `preferences_is_initialized ()' failed > (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:4951): GLib-CRITICAL **: > g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed > (yelp:5529): Yelp-WARNING **: Failed to load config file: No such file or > directory > > To unsubscribe from this bug, go to: > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/466654/+subscribe > -- Sent from my mobile device -- Screen brightness auto increases and decreases every second https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466654 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
