This seems to be fixed by upstream #3146, which is included in
Transmission 2.0x. So I'm closing this ticket because the bug has been
fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Maverick Meerkat. It
won't be fixed in previous versions of Ubuntu because the package
doesn't fit the requirements for backporting. See
