Please let me point out the following: AFAIK, the px/user unit is a
relative unit, which is negotiated when displaying the svg. But when
working for some preprint etc stuff, absolute units are necessary. So
you choose your e.g. 12pt font size to fit into a box of 2cm height. I
think, as there is a qualitative difference between the px and all other
units, this is an extra argument for implementing at least one absolute
unit (where pt is the most usual one for fonts) in the GUI.
