I confirm the same kind of issue on my DELL 6730s :
* Impossible to control the backlight with the luminosity applet (even
when I manage to have it slide, the luminosity doesn't change)
* More annoying :
- when I remove the AC cord, the luminosity increases instead
of diminishing,
- when I plug the AC again, the luminosity decreases (I wonder
if I even have the backlight ON)
... Too bad for my first time on Linux, I found it great sofar, but such
a problem makes it hard to use !
