I stopped using the PCMCIA modem as soon as I got a laptop with USB ports. The 2 USB modems I have now, Zoom and US Robotics, work perfectly with Gnome-PPP under Ubuntu 10.04, both at the user and the superuser level. Thanks to all you developers in Linux, Ubuntu, and GNOME!
