I've just run apport again. Not sure this gives additional information
of what has just happened.

Please note that the problem is in suspending, not resuming.

- i close the lid
- the system doesn't ever fully suspend (I can hear the fan)
- I reopen the lid: the screen is black but not turned off
- nothing will wake up the computer. I have to force power of by holding the 
power button.

This is only the second time it happens; I suspend/resume about a couple
of times or more a day usually without problem, so this happens every
once in a while.

I notice "importance" is still "undecided". If the range is low-medium-
high, then it is not difficult to decide it is high. Suspend/resume just
cannot fail. If it is not 100% reliable, it would be much better not to
have the possibility to suspend.
