If you are able to run the installer again, could you please run `sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install ubiquity` in a console first, or use one of the daily Live CD images (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily- live/current/) instead of Herd 5. Doing either of these things will ensure that the bug you're experiencing has not already been fixed in a more recent release of migration-assistant.
