It seems also ti have improve the drive speed :
BEFORE :
/dev/sdc:

Timing buffered disk reads: 20 MB in 3.61 seconds = 5.55 MB/sec
AFTER :
/dev/sdc:
Timing cached reads: 754 MB in 2.00 seconds = 376.38 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 168 MB in 3.01 seconds = 55.81 MB/sec
Wow ! 10x faster !
