Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

I have a Foxconn nT-330i nettop and previously with Ubuntu 10.04 when
external speakers were plugged in the internal speaker wouldn't output
sound. In 10.10 the internal speaker still outputs sound when speakers
are plugged in, and I can't figure out for the life of me if there's any
way to turn it off--it gets rather scratchy if I turn up the volume in
order to use the external speakers at a relatively high volume.

I've tried the sound preferences from the sound applet, Pulseaudio
device chooser, and Gnome ALSA Mixer, but to no avail (this really could
be a user problem btw).

I'm using 10.10 beta with all the updates installed
Pulseaudio is 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu17

Thanks.
