im running 10.4 and having no problem, i believe the issue is unique to my 
hardware, but if not its all fixed now. thanks :) im running on a 2005 hp 
pavilion dv 5000 if your wondering

Bug description:
it isnt a totem issue per say i because it happens with all the video players i 
have, and the problem can be temporarly fixed by changing the resolution to 
1024-768 then back to 1280-800 and suspending then waking it up it works 
widescreen like it should. may have somthing to do with the video drivers
