installation run and then cause such an error. But yes, I've checked on
your request, and the MD5 is correct.

Yes, the machine has hardware virtualisation. But actually I am not sure
whether VirtualBox makes use of  it.

What does "use testdrive instead" mean?

What does that mean "not using a software package provided by the
official Ubuntu repositories" ? It is the official 10.10 beta netbook
image. Nothing else. Should run under any virtual machine (and the
virtual machine can't be the reason for missing files).
