I get the two assert lines.
No segfault/crash.
But, I find an instance of gnome-appearance-properties in the background taking
100% CPU.
That is a problem discussed in some older bug-reports and I wonder if there is
any relation.
I have to do a 'killall gnome-appearance-properties' to get the processor back.

My system is running standard Lucid with some customizations on the Ambiance
theme (I think this problem started after I did these changes; but that is not
certain, I recently shifted from Jaunty to Lucid -- new-install, not an
upgrade).
I have all packages updated to current.
Could not locate any specific fix for this processor hog problem and I am not
even sure it is really related to the asserts.
Any light on the relation or lack-there-of would be great. Also, any references
to specific open bugs discussing this will also help.

thanks.

Lucid | GNOME | 2.6.32-24-generic
