Public bug reported: Binary package hint: plymouth
I am running ubuntu minimal 10.10 to which I have created a custom upstart job to start x-server and then mythtv frontend at the end of the boot. I wanted to have plymouth during the boot and installed the package and set the theme with update-alternatives. Everything seemed to go fine except that there is no trace of plymouth during boot. mron...@hondchan:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu maverick (development branch) Release: 10.10 mron...@hondchan:~$ uname -a Linux Hondchan 2.6.35-20-server #29-Ubuntu SMP Fri Sep 3 16:22:11 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux mron...@hondchan:~$ apt-cache policy plymouth plymouth: Installed: 0.8.2-2ubuntu4 Candidate: 0.8.2-2ubuntu4 Version table: *** 0.8.2-2ubuntu4 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status mron...@hondchan:~$ sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth There is only one alternative in link group default.plymouth: /lib/plymouth/themes/ubuntu-logo/ubuntu-logo.plymouth Nothing to configure. mron...@hondchan:~$ ** Affects: plymouth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Plymouth does not show splash with ubuntu minimal https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/635584 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
