Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
Hi there, I'm using ubuntu 10.10 beta version. But unfortunately my Synaptics touchpad isn't working properly. I'm using a HP dv3 4010sg laptop, where the touchpad keys are not separated from the touchpad itself. Here is some information from the Xorg.0.log regarding the touchpad: [ 31.671] (II) config/udev: Adding input device SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad (/dev/input/event11) [ 31.671] (**) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Applying InputClass "evdev touchpad catchall" [ 31.671] (**) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Applying InputClass "touchpad catchall" [ 31.671] (II) LoadModule: "synaptics" [ 31.671] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/synaptics_drv.so [ 31.671] (II) Module synaptics: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 31.671] compiled for 1.8.99.905, module version = 1.2.2 [ 31.671] Module class: X.Org XInput Driver [ 31.671] ABI class: X.Org XInput driver, version 11.0 [ 31.671] (II) Synaptics touchpad driver version 1.2.2 [ 31.671] (**) Option "Device" "/dev/input/event11" [ 31.990] (II) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: x-axis range 1472 - 5516 [ 31.990] (II) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: y-axis range 1408 - 4544 [ 31.990] (II) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: pressure range 0 - 255 [ 31.990] (II) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: finger width range 0 - 0 [ 31.990] (II) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: buttons: left [ 32.290] (--) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: touchpad found [ 32.290] (**) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: always reports core events [ 32.420] (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" (type: TOUCHPAD) [ 32.420] (**) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: (accel) keeping acceleration scheme 1 [ 32.420] (**) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: (accel) acceleration profile 0 [ 32.420] (**) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: (accel) acceleration factor: 2.000 [ 32.420] (**) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: (accel) acceleration threshold: 4 [ 32.660] (--) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: touchpad found [ 32.661] (II) config/udev: Adding input device SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad (/dev/input/mouse0) [ 32.661] (**) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Applying InputClass "touchpad catchall" [ 32.661] (II) Synaptics touchpad driver version 1.2.2 [ 38.280] SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad no synaptics event device found [ 38.280] (**) Option "Device" "/dev/input/mouse0" [ 38.380] Query no Synaptics: 6003C8 [ 38.380] (--) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: no supported touchpad found [ 38.380] (EE) SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad Unable to query/initialize Synaptics hardware.
