I totally forgot about this bug -- I wasn't getting emails regarding
updates.
This problem still persists.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) with 2.6.32-24-generic.

Sound only comes from the left channel. The system is built using an
Intel DG31PR motherboard. The speakers are connected to the on-board
line-out. No other audio cards are in the system.
