Yes. This bug still effects me, while using Lucid. I cannot test
Maverick at this time.

However, I have additional information: If the filename has a filename
extension that is known by my system to be associated with gedit, the
file opens in gedit with no problem.

If the file has an unknown extension, such as ".mw" (Maple worksheet,
for the Maple mathematics software), I receive the same dialog, even
though that file opens in gedit by default on my local machine.
