There was no option for fix (work around); I found two blocking libraries and uninstalled them. This was posted in comment # 4; https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/617638/comments/4.
The fix; 1) I ran (in a terminal) sudo apt-get -f dist-upgrade, it got stuck on kdegraphics-libs-data (see comment # 2 for the error pasted from the terminal), so I used synaptic to remove library; kdegraphics-libs-data 2) I ran (in a terminal) sudo apt-get -f dist-upgrade, it got stuck on libkdcraw8, so I used synaptic to remove library; libkdcraw8 3) I ran (in a terminal) sudo apt-get -f dist-upgrade, it got stuck on libkexiv2-8, so I used synaptic to remove library; libkexiv2-8 4) Then re-installed kdegraphics via synaptic - with no problems. 5) for the full 4.5 upgrade; sudo apt-get -f dist-upgrade had to be run (in a terminal) several times (more than the 3 times as stated in [Bug 615902]).
