Public bug reported: linux-image-2.6.35-19-generic fails to boot on my Lenovo Ideapad S10-3 (Intel Atom N450). linux-image-2.6.35-17-generic boots fine.
While trying out 2.6.36-rc3 from kernel.org, I noticed the same problem. After just disabling cpuidle support in this kernel, it boots up fine. I noticed that the most obvious difference between -17 and -19 is the cpuidle driver. Maybe blacklisting the Atom N450 or the N10 chipset in the cpuidle driver might help for maverick. --- Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Netbook 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Alpha i386 (20100224.3) Package: linux (not installed) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=de_DE.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash Tags: maverick ubuntu-une Uname: Linux 2.6.36-rc3-knuffi i686 UnreportableReason: The running kernel is not an Ubuntu kernel UserGroups: ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-collected ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: linux-image-2.6.35-19-generic fails to boot on my Lenovo Ideapad S10-3 (Intel Atom N450). linux-image-2.6.35-17-generic boots fine.
