I run trough the installation with the expert option. I manually setup the network when the installer asked for. So I think the network connection has been detected. Moreover when I set the network connection (IP address, netmask, gateway, DNS) the machine was able to figure out the own name and the domain. This test machine has a fix IP address and registered in the DNS.
